In a country struggling with the loss of industries and high unemployment, Scarfmore’s time as chancellor and president has been a huge failure. Thousands of young graduates with good qualifications are left poor and without hope for a better future. Instead of bringing progress and prosperity, Scarfmore’s government has caused more crime and pushed many skilled workers to leave the country in search of better opportunities.

Despite the obvious problem of rising unemployment, Scarfmore keeps attending graduation ceremonies, acting as if everything is fine. He has failed to deal with the urgent issues facing the country, which has led to a drop in the quality of higher education. Zimbabwe now depends on foreign aid to solve its problems, making it vulnerable.

The corrupt Zanu PF party is also to blame for the high unemployment. They benefit from keeping the people powerless and unhappy. High unemployment helps the party stay in power and stop any democratic challenges. Meanwhile, Zimbabweans suffer while the ruling elite continue to steal and misuse the country’s resources.

State tertiary institutions, which were once strongholds of education and progress, have been neglected and are now unable to help with the country’s problems. Scarfmore’s unlawful administration has let these institutions decline, leaving them unable to find solutions to big issues like the loss of industries, food shortages, and lack of technological progress.

During the pandemic, the decline of these institutions was clear. Instead of doing important research or making vaccines and medical equipment, they were only making sanitizers and masks. Zimbabwe is now heavily reliant on foreign help, which opens it up to being taken advantage of by other countries pretending to be friendly.

The Draxgate scandal shows just how deep the government’s corruption goes. The overpaid tender given to a criminal associate shows Zanu PF’s self-serving actions, putting personal gain above the people’s welfare. These actions stop the country’s progress and keep the cycle of poverty and unemployment going.

It is time for Scarfmore and his government to be held responsible for their failures. Zimbabweans deserve leaders who care about the people’s welfare and work to solve unemployment and economic problems. The country needs a new era of transparency and honesty to escape corruption and build a prosperous and inclusive nation.

Despite the dark situation now, Zimbabwe has a lot of talent and potential. By adopting a new vision of leadership and giving the nation’s youth better education and opportunities, a brighter future is possible. Scarfmore’s legacy should remind us of the consequences of failed leadership and the need to work towards a better, more prosperous Zimbabwe for everyone.
