In Zimbabwe, the ruling party, ZANU PF, is trying hard to control the situation. They show new faces on national TV, pretending that many people are leaving the opposition to join them. But these are old tricks used to fool people. The opposition in Zimbabwe is not fooled. They know ZANU PF is scared and trying to show they are still strong.
ZANU PF does not understand that the opposition is like a living thing that grows stronger with every attack. The government tries to hurt the opposition by stopping their money and other support. But every time they do this, the opposition finds new ways to survive and fight back. ZANU PF’s actions show they are scared of losing power. The opposition’s strength is growing, and ZANU PF’s time is running out.
We need to ask if these people really left the opposition. Even if important people like Timveous or Gutu join ZANU PF, it does not mean much. ZANU PF uses TV to try to show they are still in control, but people remember things like the mother whose baby was hit by the police. The TV did not talk much about it, showing how ZANU PF tries to control what people think.
Another example is the Chilonga crisis. People might lose their ancestral lands and cultural heritage. ZANU PF tries to show people are happy with this by interviewing them, but it is clear they are just scared. They even promise jobs, but these promises are not trusted anymore.
ZANU PF’s actions come from fear. They are scared of justice. The opposition wants to bring back the rule of law, where everyone is treated fairly. If the opposition wins, ZANU PF members might face trials for past crimes, like the Gukurahundi massacre. They also might lose their stolen wealth. Former President Mugabe’s broken empire shows what can happen when power is unchecked. If the opposition wins, they might give back the wealth to the people.
The opposition is strong and does not give up. ZANU PF tries to show the opposition is weak by using TV and other tricks, but the truth is different. The opposition is ready to win again. The recent focus on fake defections is just a sign of ZANU PF’s desperation. They fear justice and the power of the opposition. The opposition keeps fighting, ready to win, and bring justice and fairness back to Zimbabwe.
